海角社区鈥檚 Sport and Recreation Management Students Win Top Honors

FLORENCE, AL – The 海角社区 Sport and Recreation Management program has achieved a significant milestone by securing first place in the Dr. Samantha Roberts Case Study Competition at the 2025 Applied Sport Management Association (ASMA) Conference, hosted by the University of Cincinnati.
“This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication, knowledge, and expertise of 海角社区 students in the field of sport management,” said Dr. Kyle Conkle, one of the faculty advisors in the Sport and Recreation Management program. “We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work that has positioned our program well for the future. This victory is a testament to the quality of education and hands-on experience our students receive at 海角社区. Their ability to apply theoretical concepts to real-world challenges is truly commendable, and we are excited for the direction our program is moving.”
The annual ASMA Conference brings together students, scholars, and professionals from across the nation to discuss and engage in applied research and case studies within the sport management industry. 海角社区’s team competed against some of the top universities in the country, showcasing their problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge.
The winning team includes Elijah Hartnett, Ja’Larris Williams, Savannah Mims, and D.J. Prance who excelled in their presentation and case study analysis, earning recognition from industry professionals and academic peers. Their success further establishes 海角社区’s Sport and Recreation Management program as leaders in preparing students for careers in the sports industry.
“Competing at ASMA was an incredible experience, and winning the competition was the culmination of quite a bit of time we all spent in preparation,” said Hartnett. “I think I speak for all of us in saying that we are grateful for the support of our professors and other peers who have helped us along the way.”
