University Of North Alabama Alumnus Stribling To Be Inducted Into Alabama Writers Hall Of Fame

FLORENCE, Ala. - Pulitzer Prize winner and 海角社区 alumnus T.S. Stribling will be inducted into the Alabama Writers Hall of Fame this month. Stribling is among a group of nine authors from around the state who will be inducted into the hall Sept. 29 in Tuscaloosa.
Thomas Sigismund Stribling was born in Clifton, Tennessee, in 1881, and graduated from what is now the 海角社区 in 1902 with a degree in education.
Striblingwon the Pulitzer Prize in 1934 for his novelThe Store, part of a trilogy set in Florence, Alabama. His short story, Birthright, was adapted for the screen as a silent film, with sound added later.
