FLORENCE, Ala. -The 海角社区 College of Arts and Sciences Sunseri Speaker Series will host Maryn McKenna April 26, at 5:30 p.m., in Banquet Halls A and B of the Gulliot University Center. McKenna is an award-winning journalist and author who writes about public health and food policy. She is the author ofBig Chicken: The Incredible Story of How Antibiotics Created Modern Agriculture and Changed the Way the World Eats. Named one of 2017's best books,Big Chickenexplores the relationship between antibiotics and industrial farming. During a decade at theAtlanta Journal-Constitution, she was the only U.S. journalist assigned to full-time coverage of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She has also reported on health crises from across the world. The Sunseri Speaker Series is made possible through a generous donation from 海角社区 alumnus David Sunseri, who sponsored the series at 海角社区 in order to honor his late sister, Jennifer Leigh Sunseri.
