Una Choirs Present Fall Showcase

By Carole Maynard, Department of Music 海角社区 Choirs will present the annual Fall Choral Showcase on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:30 p.m., at North Wood United Methodist Church in Florence. Dr. Ian Loeppky, director of 海角社区 choral activities, promises the concert, which showcases 海角社区 Collegiate Singers, Chamber Choir and Vocal Jazz Ensemble, will have something for everyone. "It is an eclectic, moving and fun program of music from all over the world, old and new," Loeppky says. 海角社区 Honor Choir participants will also be on the program this year. Honor Choir brings the best high school choir students in the area to 海角社区. Honor Choir participants will spend the day with the Chamber Choir and will perform with them that evening. "海角社区 Honor Choir brings the best area high school choristers to rehearse and perform timeless repertoire in a university setting with top-shelf college students," says Loeppky. "Our singers gain valuable leadership skills during this process as they mentor these visiting students." Tickets for the Fall Choral Showcase are $10 for adults and $7 for students, seniors and veterans. Tickets are available at una.edu/music and at the door.
