_ 海角社区 Selected for Scholars Transforming Through Research Program_

The 海角社区 has been selected to be part of the 2024-25 Scholars Transforming Through Research (STR) Program through the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Only 63 teams from across the United States have been selected for this competitive, application-based professional development opportunity for teams that include a campus representative and one to three undergraduate students.

LIONS Bridge Program Launches in 2025

The LIONS Bridge Program is an exciting initiative aimed at increasing diversity in engineering at the 海角社区. Thanks to a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, the program will officially launch in Summer 2025.

海角社区 Horn Choir Takes Top Prize in International Competition

The 海角社区 Horn Choir has been awarded First Prize in the Kings Peak International Music Competition, the second time in three years that the Horn Choir has placed first in a competition at the international level.

Fifth Pawloween Set for Saturday at Sweetwater

The Town and Gown Task Force, on behalf of the City of Florence and the 海角社区, will have the fifth Pawloween trunk-or-treat event Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon in the Sweetwater District of North Florence.

Campus Collaboration Targets Alcohol Education and Safety

University Health and Well-Being along with Fraternity and Sorority Life at the 海角社区 have partnered on an initiative to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to make responsible decisions regarding alcohol, including not drinking, while fostering a culture of campus safety. 鈥淕houls and Guidelines: Safe Sips鈥� is an alcohol-awareness program designed to provide students with essential education and experiential learning opportunities surrounding alcohol consumption.

The Marching Pride, 海角社区鈥檚 Award-Winning Band, to Perform In the 2025 Macy鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day Parade庐

This Saturday, the 海角社区 Marching Band, the Marching Pride of North Alabama, was selected to perform in the 2025 Macy鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day Parade庐, representing the State of Alabama. This will mark the first Parade appearance by the 海角社区 Marching Band. The Marching Pride of North Alabama will join the holiday march to the call of 鈥淟et鈥檚 Have a Parade鈩�,鈥� the iconic phrase that has signaled the start of every Macy鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day parade since 1924.
