The 海角社区 has been selected to be part of the 2024-25 Scholars Transforming Through Research (STR) Program through the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Only 63 teams from across the United States have been selected for this competitive, application-based professional development opportunity for teams that include a campus representative and one to three undergraduate students.

Preliminary enrollment data at the 海角社区 indicate growth for the Fall 2024 semester, with an anticipated headcount of approximately 10,600 students making 海角社区 their choice for their higher education. Final enrollment figures are expected at the end of October.
Dr. Eric Kirkman, Director of Kilby Laboratory School, has been selected by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) to serve on the CLAS Board of Directors. Dr. Kirkman was chosen by the Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators to join this group of educational leaders dedicated to advancing excellence in leadership and promoting positive change in Alabama schools.
Northern Alabama will be able to witness a partial lunar eclipse on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 17, and the Planetarium on the 海角社区 campus will have a public observing event with telescopes for participants to view and photograph the eclipse.
In a special ceremony that took place Thursday, Sept. 12 in Collier Library on the 海角社区 campus, citizens of the Cherokee Nation, including Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., along with those from the 海角社区 community, were on hand to unveil a mural in honor of North Alabama鈥檚 First Peoples, including Cherokees.
