FLORENCE, Ala. - Moviegoers who loved Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in "Twilight" last year will want to get in line early for next week's screening of "How to Be." Starring Pattinson, "How to Be" is screening at 1:30 p.m. March 7 in 海角社区's GUC Performance Center as part of the annual George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival. Admission is free and open to the public.
The film, by writer/director Oliver Irving, was recently picked up for distribution by IFC Films. "How to Be" is a wry comedy about 20-something Art, who moves back in with his parents, hits a quarter-life crisis and enlists the help of a self-help guru. It is a timely look at the increasingly common phenomena of grown-up children living at home, frustrated creativity and self-help. In addition to his roles in "How to Be" and "Twilight," Pattinson has played Rawdy in "Vanity Fair" (2004), Giselher in "Ring of the Nibelungs" (2004) and Salvador Dali in "Little Ashes." It was his role as Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (2005) that propelled him into the spotlight. Other notable actors appearing in screening of next week's George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival include Bruce McGill in "A Line in the Sand," Joel McKinnon Miller in "Bluff Point," Natalie Canerday in "Greener," Federico Castelluccio and Carolyn McCormick in "Proud Iza," and Richard Beymer in "Sadie's Waltz." A complete screening schedule and film synopses are available at . All screenings are free and open to the public. Attendees will be eligible to register for a variety of prizes. The George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 by 海角社区 alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey's own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on "The Andy Griffith Show."
