Bobby Jon Drinkard, two-time "Survivor" contestant and host and producer of Alabama's "On the Job" will bring Alabama's EMPACT grip truck to this year's Lindsey Film Festival. The 48-foot tractor trailer, equipped with lighting and grip equipment as well as an 80 square foot editing suite/production office will be available Friday, March 2 from 4-6 pm, and Saturday March 3 from 10-4pm. The EMPACT (Entertainment Media Production and Crew Training) grip truck, created by AIDT, Alabama's job training agency, is part of the incentives program to attract film industry jobs to Alabama. EMPACT is working throughout the state to provide introductory training in film production to Alabama students. The public is invited to tour the EMPACT truck during its visit to the festival. The truck's location during the festival will be listed on the festival web site, www.lindseyfilmfest.com, prior to the festival kick-off. The George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 in part by 海角社区 alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey's own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on "The Andy Griffith Show."
