Film Festival Announces Screening Selections For 2010

FLORENCE, Ala. - The George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival has announced 27 films to be screened at its 2010 festival March 4-7. The films, selected from more than 120 submissions from across the world, will now compete for awards in each of 11 categories. Winners will be announced at the festival awards show March 6.

This year's competition includes two new categories, Short Screenplays and Feature Screenplays, which collectively received 45 submissions.

The 13th annual George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival will be held March 4-7 in Florence. Special guests of the 2010 festival will include actors Lea Thompson, James Tolkan and Marc McClure, who are joining screenwriter Bob Gale for the 25th anniversary "Back to the Future" Reunion, scheduled for 7 p.m. March 5 at the historic Shoals Theatre. Tickets to the reunion can be purchased at or at the 海角社区 Bookstore. The George Lindsey 海角社区 Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 in part by 海角社区 alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey's own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on "The Andy Griffith Show."
