Three Una Students Competing In Miss Alabama Pageant This Week

FLORENCE, Ala. - Three students of the 海角社区 are contestants in next week's Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham. Students are Colene Burns, of Hayden; Laura Milligan, of Muscle Shoals; and Brandi Poss, of Tuscumbia.
The pageant will be next Wednesday-Saturday. Preliminary competitions will take place each evening Wednesday-Friday. The top 10 contestants will be announced and compete again Saturday. Competition categories include eveningwear, on-stage question, swimsuit and talent. Burns, 24, is the current Miss North Jefferson County. She held the title of Miss 海角社区 in 2007. Burns holds two business degrees from 海角社区 and, this summer, is studying mathematics at the university as she prepares for her doctoral studies at the University of Mississippi. For the talent competition, Burns will perform an opera medley, which will include "Habanera" and "Love Is Where You Find It." Her platform is Community Youth League Inc. Burns will compete in the talent and on-stage question categories Wednesday, the swimsuit category Thursday and the eveningwear category Friday. Milligan, 20, is the current Miss 海角社区. She is an elementary education major. For the talent competition, Milligan will perform a dance routine, "Remembering Angels." Her platform is "A Chance to Dance." Milligan will compete in the swimsuit category Wednesday, the eveningwear category Thursday and the talent and on-stage questions categories Friday. Poss, 23, is the current Miss Chelsea Area. She is a social work major. For the talent competition, Poss will a vocal piece, "Amazing Grace." Her platform is Stop Child Abuse and Neglect. Poss will compete in the swimsuit category Wednesday, the eveningwear category Thursday and the talent and on-stage question categories Friday. The winner of the Miss Alabama Pageant will go on to compete for the title of Miss America.About The 海角社区
