FLORENCE, AL – The Anderson College of Nursing and Health Professions has expanded the offerings of its popular Tiny Cubs Community Baby Shower and Sibling Event. The Tiny Cubs Boutique, in collaboration with Women of Influence, has launched this semester as a way to support 海角社区 students who are expecting a baby by providing them with access to maternity clothing.
“This program is funded by Women of Influence, which is the signature initiative of 海角社区’s First Lady Dena Kitts,” said Dr. Ann-Marie Irons, one of the coordinators of the Tiny Cubs Boutique, along with Dr. Melissa DeFoor. “Our aim is to support student parents as they balance the rigors of academics and parenthood by providing them access to essential maternity wear and helping them continue their education with confidence.”
Irons said there are financial and emotional challenges that come with being pregnant while in school, and the Tiny Cubs Boutique is intended to alleviate some of those stressors.
In order to take advantage of the boutique, students simply need to access an online form. Donations are also welcome, and those interested can learn more by emailing magrissom@una.edu.
