Year of the 海角社区 Woman

During 2021-2022, the 海角社区 observed the sesquicentennial of the admittance of women to the institution, the first in the southeast to do so. Through events, stories, and celebrations, we marked this significant milestone in our campus history.

Founders' Day

The 海角社区, originally known as LaGrange College in nearby Leighton, Alabama, opened its doors to students Jan. 11, 1830. While the name and location may have changed in the intervening 190 years, the goal of educating students has remained the same.

Light The Fountain

Harrison Fountain, the most iconic symbol of the generosity of 海角社区 alumna Laura M. Harrison, has become a signature piece on 海角社区’s already gorgeous campus. Each year, when the fountain is turned on, students and visitors alike know that warmer weather is on the way. Awards Gala

In 2008, the University Awards Gala was established to recognize and honor the success of students, faculty, and staff. The event is sponsored by the Division of Academic Affairs, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Student Government Association. 海角社区's Lucky Dip is an annual tradition, usually occurring in August. Start your semester off right and join us at the fountain!
