Research Award Application

The Department of History is pleased to announce the Research Awards, up to four $250 prizes available to outstanding students to facilitate research projects. These awards may be used for travel money to visit libraries, archives, etc., for attending academic conferences (with preference given to students presenting), and for other research needs.

Two awards will be available in the Fall (deadline October 15) and two in the Spring (deadline April 15). Undergraduate applicants must be declared history majors and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, 3.5 or above in one’s major. Graduate applicants need to carry a 3.5 GPA.

For consideration, applicants must submit:

  • Letter of support or reference
  • Tentative Budget (including information about the conference, archive and breakdown of estimated costs)
  • Unofficial Transcript
